EIGHTEEN
He drove her to a nice little resturaunt in the small town not far from where Mike and Kim lived, it made Sandra remember the last time he had lunch with her last year.. she was just glad she was able to look more presentable this time around, and there was no Greg to care about.

Over lunch they caught up on what each other had been doing in the past year, the evening before Larry had flirted with her outragously, but today he seemed content just discussing things with her, which she found a pleasent experience.

When they had finished Lunch, he suggested they go walk abouts around the small town and check out some of the shops while they were there, Sandra thought it was a great idea, she could buy a present for Mike and Kim for their new home.

She assumed they were going straight back to Mike's to join the others after the shopping expedition. But Larry had other idea's and thought it would be nice to take a drive around for a while to view some of the local scenery.. he was determind to have her all to himself as much as possible.

"I feel a little guilty" Sandra remarked as she sat in the car next to him as they cruised along the road by fields and trees and hills in the opposite direction from where Mikes house was.

"What about?" Larry took his eyes of the road in front of him breifly to glance around at her.

"Well Kim and Mike inviting me to spend the weekend with them, and I go of and leave them and be with you.. I hope they won't think we are rude"

" Y'know, I don't think they will be" Larry assured her, he already had a feeling that Bono and Adam had been conspiring with Mike to make this whole thing happen.. he didn't want to disappoint them or feel they had wasted their time and effort.. but he decided not to let Sandra in on this, it might spoil things for her if she realised the whole thing was fixed by their friends.

"I hope not" Sandra said.

"Hey C'mon don't let it bother you, we got the sun shining the cool breeze blowing from the open car windows, some good music" he pressed the button on his cd player, and Phil Collins came on singing two hearts beating in just one time..

Sandra's eyebrows rose "You are a Phil Collins fan?"

"Um not really.. but he he is a drummer and we have to stick together" Larry winked making her grin

"Yeah its a beautiful day babe.. don't let it get away" Larry said but then frowned looking round at Sandra " Christ.. Did I really say that?.. It sounds so corny"

"Yeah" Sandra agreed and they both burst out laughing

An hour or so later Larry decided to stop in a small harbour town, and he and Sandra could take a stroll along by the waters edge watching the boats coming and going, the sun was starting to sink low in the giving a glorious view as the outstretched water reflected the hues of the late afternoon sky.

As they walked along Larry slipped his hand into hers holding it firmly "Just making sure I keep you safe and you don't fall into the water" he told her.

Sandra just smiled, quite happy with this protection it felt good and safe and secure and she happily held onto his hand as well.

They finally came to rest on the low stone harbour wall watching the sun setting and the greedy gulls circling around above them hoping for a tasty catch.

"Its been a lovely day" Sandra replied "I haven't felt this relaxed in ages... thank you" she leaned her head on his shoulder

"Its been my pleasure" Larry replied, and took advantage of the situation by slipping his arm around her, she made no objections, even snuggled closer to him which made him smile.

"You know what this reminds me of?" he then said, making her look up at him questioningly

"When we were on tour and you came and sat next me to watch an Elvis movie and you fell asleep and snuggled into my shoulder"

"Oh yes I remember that" Sandra laughed of her embarrasment.

She felt Larry's arm around her squeezing her closer to him, the comforting warmth of his hand radiating through the thin material of her top, sending sensations through her that were alarmingly delicious.

"I remember looking down at you" Larry continued unaware of the affect he was having on Sandra, lost in his own thoughts, "You looked very sweet sleeping, and I rember being jealous as hell of Greg"

Sandra chewed on her lower lip frowning a little unhappily, as she went back to that time herself "I really was stupid about Greg.. and I thought I had lost your respect for me too.. which bothered me a lot.. I never realised how important your opinion had come to mean to me.. til it was too late" she confessed "When I was writing about Greg in my autobigraphy thinking about the time we toured with you.. though I never mentioned you in my book other than a passing reference that we were on tour with U2, I found myself comparing you and Greg a lot and wishing Greg could have been more like you"

Seeing she was staring to fret thinking about the past, Larry decided to change the subject a little he didnt want to think or talk about Greg right now himself and spoil what had been a perfect time with her so far.

"Well it doesnt matter now that is all in the past" he told her "and look after all that happened we manage to find each other again"

"Yes" Sandra smiled "If anyone had told me that this was going to happen a few months ago I would have laughed at them"

"Well it wasn't for the want of me trying.. but I knew I would have to be patient" Larry told her "and now hopefully my patience has paid of" he murmered, his expression growing more intense as he smiled down at her

"Yeah I think it has" Sandra replied feeling quietly totally lost in the emotions he was creating inside her. and when his lips claimed hers she only to eagerly kissed him back with the same fervour, he had awakened something inside her she had thought she had lost, drowning in the sensations he was sending through her body as his hand slipped underneath her top to touch her skin..and as much as she was enjoying it, it also scared her that he could have this affect on her, and she found herself pulling away, shaken with the experience.

Larry's eyes clouded with slight concern "Are you ok?"

"Y-yes she manage to reply her voice also a little shaky "It's just its been a while.. and this has happened so suddenly.. I was expecting a nice weekend with old friends.. not all this.. and its just so unexpectant.. I never thought this would happen between us"

"Yeah I feel a bit overwhelmed too" Larry admitted

"I just don't want to rush into anything.. then end up with more regrets" Sandra then said "After my last experience with love I find it hard to trust my judgment"

"I understand" Larry replied stroking a stray strand of her hair away from her face "We can take it as slow as you like"

Sandra could have cried touched by his thoughtfulness and understanding for her and hoping he didn't think she was messing him around, that was not her intention at all.

She snuggled closer to him "If only I had met you before Greg.. things could have been more different" she sighed wistfully
